LOCATION

With 218 acres of waterways, 16.5 miles of shoreline and 12 residential islands, Foster City is a great location for water lovers. It is midway between San Francisco and San Jose; just 20 minutes from the San Francisco International Airport, and adjacent to the entrance of the San Mateo-Hayward Bridge serving the East Bay.

CLIMATE

Mostly sunny, the average temperature for the year is 58.7 degrees, with the average maximum 70.2 degrees and the average minimum 47.2 degrees. Average rainfall is less than 20.16 inches with the greatest amount occurring in January and February. Wind is from the WNW with a mean hourly speed of 10.5 mph.

HOUSING

Foster City has 4,571 single-family dwellings, 2,205 townhouses, 1,916 condominiums, 40 duplexes and 3,793 apartments for a total of 12,525 residential units. Of this total, 292 affordable units were made available to individuals or families who earn less than 120% of the County’s median income as estimated by the federal Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).
