It is midway between San Francisco and San Jose; just 20 minutes from the San Francisco International Airport, and adjacent to the entrance of the San Mateo-Hayward Bridge serving the East Bay.

Mostly sunny, the average temperature for the year is 58.7 degrees, with the average maximum 70.2 degrees and the average minimum 47.2 degrees. Average rainfall is less than 20.16 inches with the greatest amount occurring in January and February. Wind is from the WNW with a mean hourly speed of 10.5 mph.
