FOSTER CITY LIONS COMMUNITY BLOOD DRIVE 8:00 am to 1:00 pm
The Lions Community Blood Drive provides a great opportunity for making a special donation to your community. Please come to the Foster City Recreation Center at the corner of Hillsdale and Shell Boulevards, Foster City on Saturday, October 9th, between 8:00AM and 1:00 PM and give that most precious gift, a pint of blood. Donors should be in generally good health, weigh at least 110 pounds, and have not traveled in a malaria area for the last year. Please bring ID.
The Lions will be there to welcome you and will serve a complementary continental breakfast. The Blood Centers of the Pacific staff will take very good care of you while collecting your blood.

ROTARY CLUB OF FOSTER CITY ANNUAL RIBFEST 5:30 pm to 9:00 pm
A major fundraiser of the Rotary Club of Foster City is the fun filled annual Ribfest which takes place Saturday, October 9th at the Foster City Recreation Center. All money raised from the Ribfest stays right here in our community!
The event begins with no host drinks and fellowship at 5:30 p.m., followed at 6:30 p.m. with a delicious dinner of ribs, chicken and sides prepared by our amazing Cooking Crew. The live auction begins at 7:00 p.m. with such exciting items as wine country tours with overnight accommodations, vacation opportunities, the famous Ollieque for 30 and other items. A fantastic silent auction and door prizes are part of the event! Entertainment is at 7:30 and will continue to 9:00 p.m.

Gold Medal Achieves National Recognition Gold Medal Centers of Foster City and Burlingame has been selected as Taekwondo Times magazine 2010 October School of the month. TKD Times is the largest circulated magazine worldwide for the Olympic Sport of Taekwondo. Perez has been featured in the magazine on a number of occasions for his achievements in the sporting arena. Most recently he was featuring in an article honoring the sports Olympic Champions.
The Centers are home to over 800 students who train in a variety of martial art disciplines ranging from Olympic Style Taekwondo to Total Defense, the ultimate self defense and preservation program for women. Gold Medal will be featured in a two-page spread in the upcoming 2010 October issue. The magazine is available in bookstore and magazines stands everywhere.
