Foster City has a new Mayor...

It is with great pleasure that the Foster City Chamber of Commerce congratulates Foster City's Vice Mayor...Linda Koelling on being elected to serve as Mayor for 2011. Ms. Koelling was elected Mayor by the City Council during last Monday night's meeting.

Ms. Koelling was first elected to the council in 2003 and has always been a strong supporter of the chamber and the business community. We look forward to continuing our great relationship as we work together to create economic vitality for the Foster City Business Community.

The Foster City Fire Department is pleased to announce the start of its annual Holiday Toy and Food Drive. During the month of December, donations of non-perishable food items (such as canned foods, pasta, rice and dry beans) and unwrapped new toys are gladly accepted at the Fire Station at 1040 East Hillsdale Boulevard. This year we are unable to accept used toys, stuffed animals of any kind, or books. Monetary donations, made payable to Samaritan House, are welcome.

Toys and food may be dropped off at the Fire Administration Offices during regular business hours or at any time at the Collection Center behind the Fire Station. Food contributions and toy donations will be distributed by Samaritan House to families in need here in our community. Donations will be accepted until December 24 at noon. The holiday season places an unusually high demand on resources and every donation is greatly appreciated and gladly accepted. In addition to food donations, these organizations can do "magic" with your monetary donations--turning dollars into food for the hungry.

5A's 3rd Annual FREE PHOTO with SANTA

Saturday, Dec 18, 11am-3pm at 1221 E. Hillsdale Blvd, Foster City. Free photo with Santa includes, free frame, cookies, hot cocoa and ornament making for children. All this for FREE and everyone is welcome!

5A's SECRET WRAPPING ROOM is FREE and will open to the public starting December 4 through December 24.

This decorated storage unit is set up with table, chairs. Large rolls of wrapping paper, tape, ribbon - everything needed to get presents wrapped FREE. Especially handy if you need to wrap gifts away from the recipients!

The Peninsula Family YMCA - Events for January

PJCC Searching for Preschool Alumni Families

Peninsula Jewish Community Center (PJCC) in Foster City is searching for families who attended the PJCC Preschool between the years of 1985-present to inform them of a special event: a tribute to Preschool Director Judy Garb in honor of her 25-year anniversary with the PJCC. Alumni are invited to complete an alumni profile form that will also keep them posted regarding the anniversary celebration. The occasion will be marked at the PJCC's annual benefit on Sunday, May 22, 2011 at College of San Mateo.
