The Chamber would like to thank all the people who donated or volunteered for our Toast the Holidays event last Friday.

It was a great success, and a preliminary count puts our donation to the Vibe at around $4000! Special thanks go to Chamber Staff, Board and Volunteers and San Mateo HS Interact Club for the hard work; California Wine Distributors & Jazz Wineries for the fabulous wines; and our local restaurants, Outback Steakhouse, Tokies, Picadilly Deli, Chalet Ticino, D’Sweets, Dynora Catering, Sweet Basil, Waterfront Pizza, Edible Arrangements & Baja Fresh for the great food!

PJCC Partners with Foster City Library to Provide Community with Continuous Service

(Foster City, CA. November 9, 2009) –   During the current renovation of the Foster City Library, the Peninsula Jewish Community Center (PJCC) is partnering with their neighbor to ensure that the community continues to enjoy library programs.  The PJCC is hosting programs to provide library patrons with uninterrupted access to the library’s many important and educational services.  Foster City Library @ the PJCC will include monthly favorites such as, Save Money at the Library Literally! Foster City Library Book Club, Lawyers in the Library, employment workshops, and family and teen events. The library’s renovation is expected to last through the end of December.

Transit District Office to Close Nov. 11

The San Mateo County Transit District’s headquarters in San Carlos will be closed Wednesday, Nov. 11, in observance of Veterans Day.  The closure also is one of a series of cost-cutting measures the District has taken to help balance its budget.   All Caltrain fare media can be purchased at Ticket Vending Machines located in Caltrain stations.  SamTrans tokens can be purchased at pass sales outlets located throughout San Mateo County and San Francisco.
