Host a CONNECT@5:00 Event in 2011

The Foster City Chamber of Commerce provides your business or organization with an opportunity to host a CONNECT@5:00 event in 2011. A great way to showcase your business to the key members of the Foster City community! The guidelines are listed below. We appreciate your support and interest in hosting a Chamber CONNECT@5:00 event and hope to accommodate you. However, submission of this application does not guarantee that your business will be selected. We conduct a CONNECT@5:00 event once a month and do not hold CONNECT@5:00 events in June and November. CONNECT@5:00 events are held on the third Wednesday of the month. CONNECT@5:00 events will be selected on a first come, first serve basis. Those members not selected will be added to a waiting list. Should there be a CONNECT@5:00 event cancellation, we will gladly contact those on the waiting list for the opportunity to host a CONNECT@5:00 event.
As a CONNECT@5:00 event host you will receive the following:
- Publicity in our weekly Chambergram e-mail updates sent to over 700 business people.
- Publicity in our monthly newsletter e-mailed to over 700 business people.
- Logo and business name displayed on flyer that is posted on our web site, handed out at our new member receptions, monthly ambassador meetings, and also displayed on the front counter at our Chamber office.
- Business cards that are collected at the CONNECT@5:00 event are turned over to the host so that you may follow up and generate new business for your company.
- Listing on our website calendar.
In the selection process, the Chamber will seek to balance the CONNECT@5:00 event schedule with both small and large businesses. It is important that our CONNECT@5:00 event s are a representation of our membership and that they be conducted in a business and professional manner.

Jr. Olympic Recruitment
Gold Medal Martial Arts and Gold Medal Family Center of Foster City and Burlingame are recruiting Team Members for the 2011 Competition Season. Kron4 TV Best of the Bay winner; Gold Medal is the top choice for family for martial arts training and competition.
The athletes will be evaluated and placed in the appropriate training program. The athletes will compete in a series of sparring and Poomsae (competitive forms) with other athletes from around the western United States. The athletes will then head to San Jose during the week of June 28th to compete in the Junior National Championships and the Junior Olympics.
The children will become members of the Olympic Development program at Gold Medal Martial Arts. They are preparing and training to become Olympic hopefuls. "The program develops children in various areas of athletic and strategic excellence over a six to ten year period. They have made tremendous progress in a short period of time." explains Master Herb Perez, 1992 Olympic Gold Medalist. "This is a tremendous accomplishment for our Competition Program and is a testament to the dedication of our Foster City and Burlingame Families as well as Gold Medal's Coaching Staff."

PJCC Searching for Preschool Alumni Families
Peninsula Jewish Community Center (PJCC) in Foster City is searching for families who attended the PJCC Preschool between the years of 1985-present to inform them of a special event: a tribute to Preschool Director Judy Garb in honor of her 25-year anniversary with the PJCC. Alumni are invited to complete an alumni profile form that will also keep them posted regarding the anniversary celebration. The occasion will be marked at the PJCC's annual benefit on Sunday, May 22, 2011 at College of San Mateo.
