Gold Medal Host Hollywood Weapons Master Seminar Jan 17th

As part of its month long celebration, On January 17^th, 2010 from 8:00am to 12:00pm Gold Medal is offering a Free seminar with Master Larry Lam, Movie and TV Martial Arts actor and one of the original Teenage Ninja Turtles, His skills have been featured in GI-Joe, Last Samurai and 300 just to name a few. The event is open to the public and there will be an autograph and picture session immediately after. Gold Medal Martial Arts is located at 969 B Edgewater Blvd, Foster City.

Census 2010: Be Counted Poster Contest

With April 1^st just around the corner, Census 2010 is rapidly approaching. To help raise awareness of the 2010 Census, the San Mateo County Manager’s Office is promoting the countywide Be Counted Poster Contest within our schools. Students of all grade levels (K-12) and in all schools throughout the county can participate. A Selection Committee will choose the 1^st, 2^nd, & 3^rd place winners within all five districts. They are asking local businesses to support our talented young artists and also help with Census outreach by donating prizes for the 45 winners. They would appreciate gift certificates of $5 to $25 from local business. They will be sending out printed materials (in both English & Spanish) to each individual student about the poster contest, and anticipate active media coverage from January through the first week of March.
